Overview
Fostering a vibrant, ethical, and inclusive research culture is central to the university’s vision. Inclusive leadership is the driving force behind this goal—it empowers people to thrive, ideas to flourish, and research to make a meaningful impact. This interactive workshop invites current and emerging research leaders to explore what inclusive leadership looks like in practice and why it matters for their teams and the wider university community. Through shared discussion, case studies, and practical tools, participants will explore ways to embed inclusivity in their leadership approach, address challenges, and strengthen the culture and impact of their research.
Intended learning outcomes
- Explore what inclusive research leadership means to you, and consider why it matters for your work, your team, and the wider university community.
- Become familiar with helpful frameworks, resources, and inspiring examples that support inclusive and positive research environments.
- Reflect on your own leadership style, and think about ways to build inclusivity into your future research plans and career development.
- Identify practical steps you can take to address current challenges and contribute to a more positive and inclusive research culture, including how to progress inclusive activity and show impact in funding applications.
