For our May talk we look forward to welcoming:
Dr Michaela Goodwin: Senior Lecturer in Public Health within the Division of Dentistry: Michaela will be presenting findings from a study with Year 3 dental students using Sim Converse, a platform enabling learners to converse with simulated patients. The talk will discuss platform functionality, the development of cases and a discussion of student feedback and engagement.
Dr Elizabeth Lewis: Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Mental Health: Elizabeth’s talk will explore how the shift toward more human-centred forms of assessment in an AI-enabled landscape introduces new challenges around scale, consistency, and feedback quality. Drawing on two recent projects, she will examine how AI can support - rather than replace - educator judgement, including the use of AI as a feedback collaborator and for assessing collaborative problem solving. The session will highlight practical approaches for using AI to enhance feedback and support human-centred assessment while maintaining meaningful human interaction.
