Strengthening Primary Care Across Health Systems: Integration, Equity and Sustainability
Lessons from four countries: Indonesia, Nepal, Uganda and Ethiopia
When: Thursday 29 October 2026, 13.00–16.10(registration from 12.30)
Where: Dalton Room, CTF Building, The University of Manchester (in person)
About this seminar:
Non-communicable diseases are rising fastest in the countries least equipped to absorb them, and interventions that work in one health system rarely transfer intact to another. This seminar shares what partners have learned about delivering chronic disease and mental health care in primary care.
The afternoon opens with lessons from programmes underway in the four countries. Two panels, each bringing together voices from across the partnership, then take up the questions that follow:
• What travels, and what does not? When an approach succeeds in one setting, what goes with it, and what has to be rebuilt?
• Measuring what matters. What does the evidence tell us about cost, equity and sustainability: who benefits, who gets missed, and what it takes for care to continue once external funding ends?
