Dialogues on Enhancing Inclusive Practice: Co-leading with Fairness, Respect, Inclusion and Compassion
Guest speakers: Vanita Sundaram and Kathryn Asbury, Co-Heads of the Department of Education, University of York
In this talk we discuss how we developed our co-leadership model, arising from feminist principles of leadership. We outline the key values that are central to our departmental leadership practice - fairness, respect, inclusion and compassion - and how we use these values to navigate decision-making. Our co-leadership model is the first of its kind in our institutional context and we reflect on the challenges we faced in pitching this approach, as well as the benefits we think this model of leadership can bring to departments and universities.
This event will be hybrid on campus and online - room location TBC.
