Strengthening Research Funding Proposals through Inclusion & Sustainability
We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming hybrid workshop, Strengthening Research Funding Proposals through Inclusion & Sustainability, hosted at The University of Manchester.
The workshop will combine practical guidance, funder insight, and interactive discussion to help participants understand what strong practice looks like and how these dimensions can be articulated more persuasively in funding applications. Participants will have the opportunity to work through examples, reflect on their own proposal ideas, and exchange experiences and good practices with colleagues.
The session will include:
- Contributions from experienced speakers who will share practical strategies and examples for embedding inclusion and sustainability meaningfully within international research proposals;
- Insights from funder and reviewer perspectives, including examples such as the British Council and International Science Partnerships Fund, on how these dimensions are considered in assessment;
- A hands-on interactive workshop in which participants will work through examples and begin developing their own approaches;
- A collaborative peer-learning environment for exchanging ideas, discussing challenges, and sharing good practice;
This workshop is part of a British Council-funded research project exploring how higher education institutions can strengthen Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) through international research collaboration, with a particular focus on leadership for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is delivered through a collaboration between colleagues from the University of Manchester, in partnership with colleagues from Chulalongkorn University.
