Colleagues are warmly invited to attend an upcoming event focused on building meaningful connections between Black students and academic staff in AMBS. This session is designed to create an inclusive space where Black students can connect with academics, explore what mentorship really looks like in practice, and share what belonging means to them within the University. The event aims to strengthen dialogue, demystify mentorship, and help inform how we can better support Black students’ experiences, progression, and sense of belonging.
We would particularly value the presence of academic and professional services colleagues who are interested in student experience, mentorship, inclusion, and community building. Colleagues of all ethnic backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Date: Wednesday, 25 February
Time: 1-3pm
Location: AMBS, room 3.009
Lunch will provided at this event.
Your participation will help create a supportive and constructive environment for open conversation, shared learning, and relationship building. It is also an opportunity to listen directly to students’ perspectives and contribute to shaping future initiatives.
