Dr Sebastian Cosgrove from Keele University will be speaking at the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC) October webinar. Where he'll share some of the industrial partnerships he has undertaken over the years, and why collaboration is so important to research projects. Bioprocess optimisation is a key strategy in enabling the industrial translation of biocatalysis research. This talk will discuss two case studies from our group where process development was applied to industrial case studies. This includes re-tasking an alcohol oxidase enzyme towards the purification of an alkyl monoglucoside in partnership with CRODA, and using immobilisation and continuous flow to improve the safety profile and synthetic performance of a nitroreductase in collaboration with Johnson Matthey. This talk will discuss how industry engagement shaped the projects from start to finish.
