This event will mark the launch of a new report on 'Strengthening Ethical Practice in Qualitative Humanities and Social Science Research', funded by the University of Manchester’s Enhancing Research Culture Fund. The study engages with the experiences of UK academics on obtaining ethical clearance for projects with human subjects and sheds light on the current strength and limitations of the system.
The report launch will be followed by two roundtables featuring speakers from the University of Manchester and beyond. Speakers will reflect on the institutional and practical challenges of navigating research ethics in UK higher education institutions. A second panel will pay particular attention to research conducted with communities populations and international partners, including non-academic actors.
The room and final speaker list will be released to registrants over the coming weeks, together with a copy of the report.
