Joshua Brown – 'The Wanderer' for bass, clarinet, piano, and string quartet
World renowned bass Sir John Tomlinson will sing Joshua Brown’s The Wanderer in a new version for the Quatuor Danel with Pete Furniss and Richard Whalley. 'The Wanderer' was first performed March 2026 by the Halle Youth Orchestra and Choir, and the music celebrates Lancashire Dialect through the poetry of Edwin Waugh.
Followed at 2.30pm by Quatuor Danel public seminar - Composition Workshop
The Thursday lunchtime concerts are part of the Walter Carroll Lunchtime Concert Series, which is supported by the Ida Carroll Trust. They provide a wide-ranging programme to suit all tastes and are an ideal opportunity to enjoy great music performed by outstanding musicians.
